Paving Grids and Paving Composite Grids

Telfer provides and installs two different types of paving grids... Standard and Composite

Standard Paving Grid:fg 200 web

Standard Paving Grid is made of high modulus polyester or fiberglass yarns bonded to a light weight scrim. Used primarily for asphalt overlay reinforcement, the paving grid allows water to pass through the pavement system without damage to the structure.

Specifically designed for the construction and repair of flexible (asphalt) and rigid (concrete) pavements such as roads, parking lots, airfields, and other paved surfaces, paving grids extend the life of the entire pavement system when placed with a suitable tack coat between the existing pavement and the asphalt overlay.  Telfer provides Mirafi® FG products.

Composite Paving Grid:

Used primarily in asphalt overlay reinforcement, the grids provide high strength at very low strains (less than 2% strain). Specifically designed for the construction and repair of asphalt and concrete pavements, paving composite grids extend the life of the entire pavement system when placed with a suitable tack coat between the existing pavement and the asphalt overlay.  Telfer provides Mirafi® FGC paving composite grid products.

How It ’s Used
Grids are applied via either tractor or truck mount applications.  Mirafi® FG grids have a scrim backing that allows them to be placed with a hot asphalt tack coat for better adhesion than self adhesive grids.
Mirafi® FGC grids have a paving fabric backing and require a full hot ac tack coat for installation. The asphalt overlay recommended minimum thickness is 2".
